Bonnie Logan

Storyteller, musician, workshop educator. Bonnie Logan has many years of experience, more than 20, telling stories for schools, libraries, parks and special events. A program of folktales, cantefables, literary and original stories is accompanied by banjo and other strange instruments. Each program is custom designed for the audience at hand. Bonnie's warmth, humour and deep love of nature makes for a rich story experience.

Don Waite

Dr. Don Waite is an environmental scientist who sings original songs about water, air pollution, the five R's, the greenhouse effect, and much more! Everything is delivered with an element of humour that encourages group participation and laughter. Dr. Don has been invited to perform and lecture for both children and adults at events across North America. Im 1999, he released Earthsongs, a new CD that was nominated for the Outsanding Children's Recording by the Prairie Music Awards. He has also received two international awards for his work in teaching science through music and drama.

Engineers Without Borders

For the 800 million people who go hungry each day and the one billion who lack access to clean water, poverty is an absence of opportunity. Engineers Without Borders responds to this need, helping people in developing communities gain access to technologies that will improve their lives. We believe that technology, when appropriately incorporated into each community's social, cultural, economic and political context, can drive extraordinary change. During this workshop, children will experience first hand the challenges of energy poverty. The workshop also explores the consequences of Canada's energy consumption and the effects of climate change around the world. Although this workshop is typically offered to middle-years students, it has been specially adapted for younger children for the WAM Children's Tent! Come early as spaces are limited!
Joseph Ashong

Joseph Ashong is a master drummer, dancer, teacher, choreographer, and entertainer from Accra, Ghana. He moved to Canada in 1990, where he has recorded and performed with musicians from around the world. Joseph's dynamic performances have put him in great demand as both an entertainer and educator. Children will be delighted as they are invited to participate in the music-making in a truly communal, magical music experience!

Joseph Naytowhow
Friday, August 22 at 4:00 pm (Cancelled)Joseph Naytowhow's talents as a singer, songwriter, and performing artist have made him one of Saskatchewan's most sought after artists. A Woodland Cree (Nêhiyaw) from Sturgeon Lake First Nation, Saskatchewan, Joseph integrates creativity, humour, gentleness, and many wonderful stories from the First Peoples of this land. He has performed original music on various recordings, including the CD of the musical duo, Nikamok, and has been invited to perform for the Prince of Whales and in places such as the Yukon Territories, Washington State, and the Orkney Islands, Scotland.

The Meewasin Valley Interpretive Centre will lead a workshop on alternative energy while Beaver Creek Staff lead a workshop on pollination.
The Meewasin Valley Interpretive Centre focuses on the original areas of urban development in Saskatoon. It is a place to learn about the Meewasin Trail system, Saskatoon history, the South Saskatchewan River, and the Future of the Meewasin Valley. In 2004/2005, the centre enjoyed 17, 121 visitors who toured the facility, sought tourist information, or who participated in the interpretive programs. The MVC staff deliver a cultural history program to most grade 3 students in Saskatoon. The Centre partnered with other organizations to host such events as the annual Heritage Festival, National Rivers Day, and Seasonal programs at the historic Marr Residence.
Beaver Creek Conservation Area is located 13km south of Saskatoon. A sheltered creek, river valley, and prairie habitat offer a diversity of flora and fauna for visitors. It is the microcosm of the Meewasin Valley, and contains one of the few uncultivated short grass prairie sites in Saskatchewan. An interpretive centre and staff provide opportunities to discover nature during the four seasons along a selection of five nature trails.
Michael and Alison Flensburg

Mike and Alison Flensburg are both teachers-turned-children’s-writers and performance poets. They write children’s poems, songs, raps, and picture books. Alison and Mike present subjects such as peace, social justice, habitats around the world, the solar system, and the environment to children, always with an element of fun and wacky characters that encourage laughter and audience participation.
Prairie Dog Doug

Fishing with gummi worms, flying canoes, campouts in beaver lodges, tobogganing tongue twisters, and 21 duck species names sung in one song! For over 10 years “Prairie Dog” Doug Campbell has had the whole family laughing to his delightfully daft Songs from The Silly Side Of Saskatchewan at Children's Festivals, Fairs, Provincial Parks, and Library tours all over the province. Doug was awarded a SK Arts Board grant to record a CD ('Prairie Dog' Doug And Friends) featuring 22 SK musicians. His songs have been heard on CBC Radio.

Wacky Wizard

Magic like you have never seen before! Weldon the Wacky Wizard has just inherited all the mystery and magic of his wizard uncle! The magic is hidden in his beautiful treasure chest, but Weldon doesn’t have the foggiest idea how anything works! With your children’s help, as well as the “assistance” of Lorraine, a fuzzy pink bird who likes to torment him, everyone will make magic and have a great time!
